Welcome to Moffat Consolidated School District 2! As the Superintendent of the district, I’m pleased to welcome you to the district and wish both students and parents the very best this school year. I hope this letter finds you well and eagerly looking forward to an outstanding school year full of growth, learning, and accomplishments.
This year, we are committed to focusing on three essential district priorities that will guide our efforts towards even greater success:
Quality Teaching and Learning: At Moffat School District 2, we believe that every child deserves a quality education that empowers them with the knowledge and skills to set the groundwork for future success. To achieve this, we will continue to invest and focus on our teachers' professional development, hold ourselves to a high standard of instructional delivery, and provide our students with a strong curriculum and engaging experiences. We will continue to strive to create an environment that promotes a family culture of support, curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring that our students become lifelong learners.
Positive School Environment: The well-being of our students and staff is of utmost importance to us. This year we are focusing on student engagement and meeting the needs of all students. To that end, we have hired new staff that we feel, like our returning staff, are very invested in our students. We recognize that a supportive and compassionate community is vital for academic success and personal growth. We are fortunate to be able to address this area with student support services like counseling, nursing, post-secondary support, and additional support from the San Luis
Valley BOCES. Our intent is to create and maintain a place where everyone belongs and is supported.
Safety and Security: Creating and maintaining a safe and secure learning environment is a top priority at Moffat Consolidated School District 2. We are dedicated to implementing the best practices in school safety, including regular drills, updated security measures, and ongoing collaboration with law enforcement as well as other first responder agencies. Our goal is to ensure that students and staff feel secure and allow them to focus on teaching and learning without distraction. We appreciate parents entrusting their students to us and we want you to feel that your kids are safe.
The success of our district is a collective effort. Success is achieved through a partnership between our dedicated educators, supportive parents, and hardworking students. Together, we will commit to building a culture of quality in Moffat Consolidated School District 2.
We welcome and encourage your active engagement in our school district in classroom learning, athletics, and school events. Parents might also consider volunteering in classrooms or getting involved in groups that support a particular class or athletic team.
As we begin this new school year, I am confident that with a collective approach to providing our students a quality educational experience, that we will have achieved success when we the school year ends.
