June 9, 2008
May 10 – Mr. Frey and several students went on a field trip to Santa Fe to visit a foundry.
May 12 – Hashbarger attended the Colorado Reading Summit in Denver.
May 13 – An Open House Retirement celebration was held for Mr. Dokson from 4:30 to 6:30pm. The event was well attended. The 2nd and 4th grade students and teachers went on a fishing field trip to Russell Lakes.
May 14 – The first grade students and teacher went on a field trip to the Royal Gorge. The students who made the 2nd semester honor roll were treated to a movie at Ski Hi 6 theater – “Iron Man” – the students enjoyed the movie.
May 15 – The Spring Concert was held in the gym at 7:00pm. Reading First Regional Consultant – Alan Dillon was in the building discussing Reading First Data and end of year results. The 4th grade students went on their annual field trip to the “Rendezvous” at Fort Garland.
May 19 – The Elementary students enjoyed their annual Field Day in the morning and then they went to the Hooper Pool to swim in the afternoon.
May 20 – The Elementary Awards program was held in the gym from 9:00 to 11:00am. This was the last day for the elementary students. The Middle School Awards and potluck was held at 6:00pm in the gym – the 8th grade students Moving Up Ceremony was held this evening as well.
May 21 – This was the last day for the middle school and high school students. The high school went on a field trip to Elitch Gardens in Denver and the middle school went bowling in Alamosa.
May 22 – The high school awards and potluck ceremony was held at 6:00pm in the gym.
May 23 – Graduation rehearsal was held in the gym at 9:00am.
May 24 – Moffat High School Graduation ceremony was held in the gym at 1:00pm.
May 28 – We held 3rd grade interviews on this day – we decided to hire Carly Wahrenburg for this position.
June 5 – We held the Title 1 Interventionist interviews and Music interviews on this day – we decided to hire Nicole Speechley (former High School English teacher at Moffat) for the Title 1 Interventionist position and Yvette Jackson as the K-12 Music teacher.
June 6 – The Reading First team held a BLT meeting in order to finalize the 07-08 school year. We discussed the upcoming Rocky Mountain Institute Conference in Keystone and talked about the Summer Reading Program and the professional development we will be working on during the two weeks.
June 11 – Hashbarger will work with Dave Crabtree on the Reading First Report. We have 1 HS English interview scheduled and 2 Spanish interviews set for this day.
June 14 – Eli’s retirement party at the Silver Crest in Crestone.
June 17 – Eli and Charlie will attend a Perkins meeting at TSJC.
June 18 – Hashbarger will attend a Diabetes Steering Committee meeting in Alamosa.
June 22 – 25 – Hashbarger, Dale Smith and Sherri Garcia will attend the Rocky Mountain Institute Conference in Keystone. Hashbarger will be attending the RTI State Contacts planning meeting and professional development strand.
