    Principal’s Report
    Moffat School – Michelle Hashbarger
    December 12, 2007

    November 9 – Mr. Dokson and Mrs. Hashbarger attended the Alpine Achievement overview at ASC. Alpine Achievement is a data storing system that the BOCES/School Districts are very interested in purchasing.
     
    November 12 – Helen Martin and Lyndal Smith took the middle school and high school History Fair students to ASC Library for research. HS boys and girls basketball practice begins.
     
    November 14 – Kathy King Dickman and Nicole Speechley attended the CELA testing workshop for ELL students. Mrs. Benton gathered the Senior Class to complete the Daughters of the American Revolution essay. 
     
    November 15 – Midterm. Ms. Kershenr held a “Star Party” along with ASC at Moffat School. The students and guests were able to view various stars and constellations. The FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) food drive ended on this day and the food collected went to help the Moffat Food Bank.
     
    November 16 – Teacher Workday and Teacher Professional Development in the area of Comprehension. 
     
    November 20 – Reading First Regional Consultant – Alan Dillon was in the building helping us further look at the Reading data that we have collected on our students.
     
    November 21 – 23 – Thanksgiving Break
     
    November 26 – MS girls basketball begins. 
     
    November 27 – Linda Eickhoff attended a meeting in Denver for GT. Adams State College came to meet with all Seniors who are interested in attending ASC.
     
    November 28 – Michelle Hashbarger attended a School Environment project meeting in Alamosa. Sandi Lockhart – Reading First Literacy Coach attended a Coach Training in Del Norte. Area coaches are impressed by our data and the success that we have been having with our students K-3.
     
    November 29 – Reading First BLT day to look at data and to complete a teacher survey online.
     
    December 3 – Mrs. Martin took the Senior class to the “We The People” competition in Alamosa. The students took 2nd place in 2 categories of the competition. CELA testing window for ELL students opens today. DAC (District Accountability Committee) meeting took place – we went through the Accreditation Rubric that the sub-committee created. Each school will be gathering items for the “binder” during the 07-08 school year.
     
    December 4 – Mrs. Benton and Mrs. Hashbarger met with the FBLA students to determine the events that each student will be competing in at the District competition in February 08. We also discussed our 2nd Food Drive that will continue through December 20th – these items will be donated to the Saguache County Food Bank. Linda Eickhoff went to CCS during the morning to do some GT testing.

    December 14 – Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament
    December 15 – Junior Varsity Basketball Tournament
    December 16 – Superintendent Search Screening Committee meeting
    December 18 – Peer Mediators to Alamosa – Community Service Project
    December 19 – Hashbarger to School Environment Project meeting in Alamosa
    December 20 – End of 1st Semester, Candle Light Ceremony

    January 7 – School resumes – beginning of 2nd semester
